May 19
Today was the first day off class at FUA. We covered the syllabus along with a little introduction from each classmate. The professor for our class took us out to a couple monuments in Italy. Like the Church were the tombs of Galileo and Michelangelo are held, a street where the water level had risen super high in 1557 and 1966, and also another place where there was a large size David Statue along with other great and memorable statues. Once with got done with the little class tour our group of students from Eastern decided to gather up and go enjoy a nice italian meal at a restaurant named Trattoria Zàzà were I had some amazing Grilled chicken breast slices with a side portion of rosemary potatoes. Some really good food and so far I've notice that all restaurants so far that we have been to since sunday have a different flavor to their foods.  On my way to school I also took a picture at the Ponte Santa Trinita because as of now I came to the conclusion that no matter where I am in Florence once i find the bridges because there is several that I can find my way home. At all there bridges many italians and tourist sit and wait for the sunset. Here in Florence an alley is a street and it throws us off sometimes because there are so many street names close to each other and very little room on the sidewalks to walk on. A very unique thing we have also noticed is that when a building is under construction they put a large image of what the building will look like once it gets done while they are still working on it.
